Water sports and Swimming

Lac Pardoux is one of the biggest lakes in france at 365 hectares.  Its has a nature reserve, water sports and beach area, with bars and shops.  All only 15 km away from Le Dorat.

Shooting (Rifles and Clay Pigeon)

We have established a great relationship with Tony (our resident  qualified Deer stalker).  We can organise and tailor days out shooting and fishing for small and large groups.  ideal for birthdays/lads holidays or STAGGS!

Cycling

A perfect way to see some of Frances beautiful countryside.  We have four bicycles available for hire at €10 euros per day or why not cycle to one of our friends’ Chambres D’hotes for the night.

Fishing

There are plenty of fishing lakes in the area.  Permits are required but these can be arranged for you if you wish just email us and we’ll see what we can do.

Horse Riding

The are quite a few stables in the area some in walking distance including a fully equiped equestrian centre within 10 minutes drive.  If you interested in riding please let us know when you book and we can arrange lessons or riding days for your stay.

Tennis

There is a tennis club in Le Dorat and we have rackets and balls available.  Vince, one of the owners is also a fully qualified LTA Club Coach, lessons can be given subject to availability.

Shopping/Cultural trips

Limoges is a very cultural busy city worth seeing.  In Le Dorat you are one hour from Poitier, Limoges, and Confelons.  If you don’t have a car please ask us and perhaps we can organise a lift for you!!

The Valley of Monkeys (Day trips available)

This very popular and fascinating visitor attraction provides a unique experience to see monkeys and gorillas close up, living in a natural habitat in semi freedom. Pygmy marmosets, macaques, gibbons and capuchin monkeys provide hours of entertainment and educational value. La Vallée des Singes has been designed for conservation of species. Over 200 animals roam free on wooded isles and each year new primates are born. The children's farm area and playground ensure fun and entertainment for the whole family
